Short Course

Course Overview

This program is designed to guide participants through the transition from individual contributor to supervisor. Throughout the course, participants will learn to adapt their leadership style to suit various people and situations, understand and communicate team purposes clearly, and utilise support techniques to help team members achieve performance goals. The program also focuses on fostering effective two-way communication, skillful delegation, and constructive responses to challenging situations and individuals.

 

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to be effective supervisors, capable of leading high-performing teams that align with and contribute to achieving organisational goals and objectives.

Course Content

Through this course participants will develop the skills and knowledge to:

  • Choose the appropriate leadership style to suit different people and situations
  • Create a common understanding of team purpose, roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities in accordance with organisational goals, plans and objectives
  • Apply support techniques to aid team members in meeting expected performance outcomes
  • Develop and encourage free-flowing, two-way communication that has lasting impact with their teams
  • Plan and conduct appropriate delegation
  • Use proven techniques to respond to challenging situations and people constructively
  • Develop a positive team culture and improve team dynamics
  • Apply feedback techniques to correct, encourage, value and reward individual and team efforts and contributions
  • Identify development needs and appropriate interventions to develop individuals and teams
