This course is designed to equip students with practical skills in chemical testing, using lab application software, stock maintenance and more. Suitable for workers in a range of industries, including those in laboratory technician and similar roles.

There are 16 total units of competency in this qualification. Streams can be customised to suit industry requirements. 

4 core units:

• MSL944002 Maintain laboratory or field workplace safety
• MSL934008 Maintain instruments and equipment
• MSL924005 Process and interpret data
• MSL934009 Apply quality system and continuous improvement processes

12 elective units:

• Dependent on stream - available streams include asphalt field, asphalt laboratory, chemical, clinical laboratory, CMT field, CMT laboratory, coal, environmental, fire assay, food, mineral, pathology specimen collector, pathology technical laboratory, and school science technician.
