Engineers have legal duties under Work Health and Safety laws to make sure the products and assets they design are safe.
To fulfil these duties, they need to consider all the potential hazards that might emerge at every stage of design lifecycle. That includes during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance, decommissioning, demolition, and disposal.
This course will support engineers and related professionals in meeting the legal duties, by improving awareness of the tools, practices, and techniques for identifying and managing hazards.
Participants will also develop practical skills, by participating in a case study example where they plan the Safety in Design activities for a major project.
By the end of the course, learners will have a deeper understanding of how to meet legal obligations by integrating Safety in Design into engineering and design processes.
