• Advocating patient safety
• Managing high stress situations
• OVA Alert
• Recognising behaviours of concern
• OVA Response

Learning experience:

• Identify the range of customers in a healthcare setting.
• Apply basic customer service principles to simulated healthcare scenarios
• Relate principles of customer service to the relevant National Safety and Quality (NSQHS) standard.
• Identify strategies to manage a response to high-stress situations in a challenging workplace, resulting in better personal, professional, and patient outcomes.
• Consider how you respond to stress and what your current stress and resilience levels are
• Investigate how our brains work through examining neuroplasticity and explore techniques for managing stress – on current learning journey – may change
• Identify your stress and resilience levels and relevant stress management strategies in discussion with your Peer Assessor
• Use scenario-based learning to consider a range of common healthcare-related scenarios that are considered to be aggressive or violent and the impact that this has on them, their colleagues and consumers
• Understand the impact that this has on them, their colleagues and consumers
• Undertake scenario-based learning, to provide real life possibilities where learners can consider the behaviours that have the potential to escalate into Occupational Violence and Aggression

• Identify actions or interventions that may prevent the occurrence of a violent or an aggressive event
