Course Overview

In this course you will learn about the developers best approach to using timber structures in mid-rise projects (4+ levels), their advantages when they are correctly designed and procured, and the specific considerations that this may require. In particular, the principles and processes to:

 

  • understand the typical benefits of timber structures, and how they may apply to a specific site and set of development objectives
  • select an appropriate range of parameters for a feasibility analysis, including risk assessment, costing and program
  • draft an Expression of Interest document to be sent to possible suppliers.

As you work through the course you will have the opportunity to answer some questions and progressively check your understanding. Complete the assessment quiz and the feedback activity to obtain your CPD certificate of completion.

Course Content

This course is targeted at Developers, Builders, Insurers, Lenders and associated consultants (Project Managers, Quality Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Architects, and Engineers) but beneficial for anyone in the industry interested in understanding more about mid-rise timber structures.
